Overview

A plant plate is rich in most things. It is reliably short of a short list: B12, vitamin D in winter, iodine if you do not use iodised salt, and sometimes zinc and selenium. A general multivitamin pours thirty nutrients over that list and charges for the twenty-five you did not need.

The Gap Multi is the list and only the list. Each nutrient is at the reference value or the amount a plant-based adult actually lacks, and each one has authorized wording we can print. Iodine comes from potassium iodide, never from kelp, because kelp's iodine content swings tenfold between batches.

A women's version with 14 mg of iron is planned alongside it. Iron is left out of the standard capsule on purpose: a plant-based man or a woman past her periods rarely needs it, and extra iron is not harmless.

Who it is for, and precautions

General information about a planned product, not advice for you. A pharmacist or doctor knows your medicines; we do not.

Adults eating mostly or entirely plants who want one capsule to cover the known gaps.

  • The zinc dose sits at the reference value; do not stack with another zinc product.
  • If you take prescribed iodine, or a medicine your doctor has told you interacts with it, ask before taking this product.
  • If you take an anticoagulant such as warfarin, do not take vitamin K2 without your doctor's agreement.
  • Keep out of reach of young children.

Questions

Why no iron?

Because iron is the one nutrient where too much is a real risk for some people, and plant-based men and women past their periods usually do not need extra. The planned women's variant adds 14 mg.

Why not just eat seaweed for iodine?

Because the iodine in kelp varies so much between batches that you can get ten times the reference value in one sheet. Potassium iodide is the same dose every time.
